Q. What are the differences between A casa di Amici “Hostel and Guest House” and the “Bed & Breakfast”?

The “Hostel Guest House – A casa di Amici” is located in an independent building in Via Dante, 57 and it is organized in 2 floors.

At the first floor there is the “Hostel” which is organized in:

– a total of 5 rooms: 1 male dorm, 1 female dorm, 1 mixed dorm, 1 triple or quadruple room, 1 double or single room

– 2 big blocks which are the toilets divided between males and females*

*If you like to reserve a private toilet it is possible at a cost of 5,00 € or more.

At the second floor there is the “Guest House” which is organized in:

– 5 rooms with ensuite bathroom

– 1 Junior Suite divided in 3 environment: the bedroom,  the relax room with TV and the bathroom.

The “Bed & Breakfast – A casa di Amici” is located at a different address, Via Volturno 6, and it is organized in:

– 3 rooms and 2 common toilets.

In order to give you the opportunity to check in 24Hx7day we have a 24h open reception in Via Dante 57: our multilingual staff will be there to give you the best welcome in Palermo!

The B&B and the Hostel – Guest House are very close, the distance is in fact of about 800 meters, which means a walking of only 10 minutes!

Q. Can you host big groups?

Yes, we can also host big groups of people: the Hostel Guest House of Via Dante can in fact accommodate up to 49 people while the B&B located at Via Volturno can accommodate up to 8 people: it means a total of 57 people divided between two different structures.

Q. Where are “Hostel Guest House – A casa di Amici” and the “Bed & Breakfast – A casa di Amici” located?

– “Bed & Breakfast – A casa di Amici” is located at the address Via Volturno, 6

Connection with the Airport: if you come from the airport with the Bus company “Prestia&Comandè” in both cases you have to get off the bus at the stop “Politeama” and then reach us by walking (5 minutes to the Hostel Guest House where you have to made your check-in!).

If you have to go to the airport you can take the bus again at Piazza Politeama, but the bus stop to the airport is in the same side of  Hotel Politeama (while, coming from the airport you will get off the bus at Piazza Politeama, but at Movie Theater Politeama side).

At the moment the Metro line, which connect the Airport of Palermo to the city center, is closed due to some renovations works so Bus and/or taxi (we also offer a shuttle service, contact us for more infos!) are the only ways to reach us!

Distances: both the structures are 10 minutes far by walking from the Harbor of Palermo, 30/40 minutes by walking far from Palermo Central Station (Piazza Giulio Cesare).

We are also close to night clubs, cinema, restaurants, Opera, Museum and much more… in short, we are very well located inside Palermo city center!

Q. Do you offer a shuttle Service for/to the airport?

Yes, the cost is 35,00 €

Q. What is included in the price of our stay?

– Fresh Linen, bedding and use of all the facilities are included.

– Free Wifi, Free Yoga room, Free TV, Kitchen Use.

– Towels are included only in the price for a private room, for those who book the shared rooms there is an extra cost of 1,00 €/person for the towels. 

Normally the cost for any extra is around 5,00 € extra per day.

Q. What about the cancellation Policy?

For individual bookings: we require 48hrs notice of cancellation (for example: if you reserve for the 16th please delete before 2.00pm of the 14th). If a guest does not show up and does not cancel we will charge the first nights accommodation and cancel the rest of the booking.

For groups bookings: we require a non refundable deposit of 30% to be paid by credit card or by bank transfer. All cancellations must be done in writing within 4 weeks prior the arrival date. In case of no show, the entire amount of your stay will be charged.

Q. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash and credit cards, Master Card and Visa.

Q. What are the check-in and check-out times?

Guests are welcome to check-in at any time of the day or night as the reception is open 24hrs.

The rooms usually cannot be occupied before 2.00 pm but in case they arrive earlier, they are welcome to store their bags in the luggage room and use the Hostel facilities until the rooms are ready.

Ask our staff upon arrival if the room is ready and if it is we’ll let you in straight away.

Check-out time is at 10.30am.

Q. Are there luggage storage facilities provided?

Yes. The luggage room is accessible 24hrs a day and is free of charge during your stay. You can take your key at the reception.

Check out is at 10:30 am and bags can be stored until 6pm on the day of departure.

Guests that check out at 10:30 am but are not flying until the following morning will need to book another nights accommodation if they want to leave their bags past 6pm.

Anyway for people that leave before 11:30 pm there is a small charge to use shower, kitchen, luggage store, wifi and common area of 5,00 €

Q. Is there a Bar inside the Hostel?

Yes, the Bar is open 24H so you will be able to order anything starting from a good “Cappuccino” to local Beer or Wine.

Q. What about the use of the kitchen, food and drink?

You can buy food at the market and use  the  kitchen for free. If you’d want a meal prepared by someone else , please ask of our personal  chef, we can organise for you (with an extra charge) a good meal.

It’s forbidden to bring alcohol to the Hostel from outside: you can buy alcohol directly at our Bar.

Q. Do you have Car Parking facilities?

Yes. We cooperate with a parking garage  very close to us (the address of the Car Parking is Via Sammartino, 24).

Price is 10,00 € for 24h.

Please let us know in advance if you’d  like to reserve a car parking.

If you arrive in Palermo with a car,  we strongly suggest you reserve prior a car parking, because it’s  not easy to find a free parking inside the city center especially if you are coming in Palermo for the first time.

Q. Is there a  curfew?

No, the reception works 24h and so there is always someone there.

For the comfort of all guests please be as quiet as possible after 11:30 pm.

Q. Are there activities to do at the Hostel?

Yes, please follow the programmes 😉

You can join us for our  cooking class, Risiko game, social dinner, painting activities of drums or canvas.

Available to our customers there are also games, xbox, musical instruments.

We also organize some tours, please write us to have more infos.

Q. Do you rent Bikes and/or car?

Yes we rent bikes, the cost of each bike is of 5,00 € per day.

About the car we work together with a Car Rental company that on request can deliver  the car to you  directly at the Hostel.

The price change according with the period of the year and with the days so please if you are thinking of  renting a car, write us and we’ll respond rapidly  with the  prices and details.

Anyway to reserve the car you will need to have a credit card.

Q. Do you do book exchange?

Yes, we love it!!!

Q. Is there a laundry service?

Yes, there is a self service at the cost of 4,00 €

Q. Which power supply is there?

We have 220 V, some Power adapter are available at the reception.

Q. Is there a smoking area?

Yes we have a terrace where is possible to smoke and relax.

Is forbidden to smoke inside the Hostel, to respect the nonsmoking people.

Q. What about tourist information?

We give to our guests a gift that is our city map which is  designed with  the  outlines of 3 different city tours that you can do walking from the Hostel.
